heated clothing

I have been seeing these ads on the TV for a while now.
 I have sent an inquiry as to the suitability of these use on a Yak. Waiting for response.
 What do Y'all think?

Not sure I would depend on such a system considering the other equipment drawing from the same electrical source (FF/GPS, lights, etc.), or are you loadin extra batteries?

they have the usual-plug into the 12 vlt supply on motorcycles and a 7 vlt battery type as well.
 I am asking them about the use "on the water", we'll see what they have to say.
 I would like trhat iedea for cold days above the water in the wind.

 

maybe its me but batteries and water just dont seem like a good thing.. specially if i am wearing whats being powered by them and i get wet..

Another option for staying warm would be layers of polyproplene and fleece.. you can pretty much make almost anything out of fleece (ie.. pants, socks, shirts, hats )

Quicksilver westsuites makes a heated vest with its own battery pack.

 the company makes these garments for the military as well as the motorcycle industry. The literature on the site says they are good for riding in the rain.  I have asked about using them on the Yak, no reply as of yet.
 Besides, once you are in the water....no power. If Y'all can use batteries for fishfinders, clothing aint so far fetched.
