Left the house this morning chanting "Wherem'a gonna fish?" over and over and over and.....

Since the Willamette was high and off color, my 1st choice was a small neighborhood lake in Tigard where I used to catch fat Largemouth and endless crappie in my teens.  Since then however it's been surrounded by Mc Mansions and a beautiful rhododendron garden so I wasn't sure if it would be accessible.

After a bit of scouting, I found the perfect access for a carry in yak launch. Yes!  100ft from a prime parking spot along the road.  Everything carried down to the water and starting to rig when I noticed the sign.... No!  NO!!  NO..... Fishing, No Boats, No Swimming.....  #&*()_@!!!

Well, blown or not, I decided to check out the Cedar Oak area.  Good thing I'd brought some springer gear along just in case (key word "some").

I'd seen the ramp once on a map.  Followed the spidey fish senses.  Got on a road that I thought paralleled the Willamette and just as I was looking for a side street that would put me closer to the river, found "Cedaroak Dr".

Mid morning and there were still plenty of open spots at the ramp.  Just in case, I tossed in my bass gear.

2hrs of trolling.
All my gear lost to the rocks.
Time to chase some Bass.

Yes sir.  Yes there are.   ;D  Thanks for the tips that led me there!
There was a bankie working the same area with crappie jigs.  All he managed were some smaller SMBs.  He said the crappie fishing in that area hasn't been the same since the '96 flood.

Surfing?   :-[  That was the original plan for this weekend but the period was really short and the winds were out of the west.  One of these days....

BTW: All those fish were caught out of the main current.  They seemed to be hiding from the high, off color main flows.  Average depth in the area was 3 to 4 feet.
