As of July 12th, I am, officially,  retired.

That's pretty slick for those who don't want to deal with the fiberglass. I did mine in fiberglass and it was an experience. I think if the price were less expensive than building one it would be sweet......

MSRP is $99, so we're talking pretty close to even

I'm curious to see how well this works out.  After looking side by side by side as the difference in the molding of the T11, T13 and the T15, I'm not convinced that a "one size fits all" lid is ideal.  I know it costs $$$$$$ for OK to build the molds, so they're not going to just change them at will (though they did for the new keel protector!), but until the lip area of the RodPod is the same for all 3 sizes of kayaks, these lids will not perform at their best. The stronger plastic is most definitely going to help, but not resolve my issues with the RodPod.

I like it.  If I was still fishing my T13 regularly I might pick one up.  At least OK is being responsive to their customers.

Much better design over the original.  I do however think that they over did it with the pre drilled holes for mounting just about everything that I would never have mounted to it in the first place.   ::)

Where does a guy put the 6" hatch in it if he wanted one?  Would be cool if they made a "dumbed down" version of the new lid that was naked so the user could do what he wanted with it.

I do like how they utilized my double lip design on the inside edge to give it mucho more strength.  ;D

Agree with you there about the pre-drilled holes.  6 inch hatch and a few (custom placed) holes would be perfect.  This is close enough for perfect for me since I don't have the time for any more projects and it's getting to the point where I have to rummage through the house and garage just to find a screwdriver  :-[

Sounds like you are about ready for a midlife crisis shakeup, I know I'm looking forward to mine.  ;D
