Had a few hrs to fish this am and was on the water at Lake Stevens at 5:30. Have tried several times for this species here with a big skunk in the yak. I have been gleening info from other guys on the water and am
learning what it takes to catch these buggers. I trolled at 1-1.8mph with the sweet spot at 1.4. Used a sling blade dodger with a 3/8th-1/4oz keel
sinker with a pink wedding ring blade tipped with white shoepeg corn. the bite was on for the only yakker on the water. Missed several strikes with the rod in the rod holder and then I went to just having the rod propped between my legs(no comments, please). This gave me better control and reaction time(I did confer with my MD to see if this was okay for me). Was able to land several fish and the feeling I had was fantastic. I was able to get myself on the AOTY board but better yet was the release of many of the frustrations of the current life(or lack of)situations. These fish
are by no means a 63" Dino but none the less, fun is fun. I have still not
rigged my new Revo but am getting out when I can with my Cobra and at least wetting a line. Hope to hookup with some of you soon.

Nothing you can't be proud of there - I'd love to pull one that big out of Alder.  Thanks for the tips regarding your rig.

Thanks guys. Now I have to go to work to pay for all the petrol that yak uses. It's amazing the looks you get from the Pbers when you're out in your yak and even a high when they look on when you land a fish. Kokanee is one thing but they are really laughing when your Dino fishin' from your yak and you get all sorts of comments. Then they shut up when they see you land one. Looks like a nice weekend. Good fishing too all and be safe.
