In case you are looking for a new battery for your FF/sonar, I stopped at the Batteries Plus in Tigard this afternoon and picked up a 9 Ah battery for $36. This battery is only $2 more than the 7.5 Ah version with exactly the same physical dimensions, 6"x 2.5"x 3.75". Tomorrow I'm stopping at Andy and Bax for a waterproof box. Changing from a 5 Ah battery, I'm getting ready to fish for 24 hours!

Happy hunting,
Jay

If you don't want another option over the Pelican case from A&B's,  Dicks has a few sizes of waterproof boxes starting somewhere around $10.

I may be over at A&B's tomorrow as well getting some webbing buckle hardware, and also dropping off my warranty card and picking up a Hobie water bottle from Next Adventure (they forgot to include one with my Revo).  ;D

That's my kind of price but are they really waterproof? There are a lot of cheap plastic boxes out there that are easily cracked or broken or have only a thin, flimsy plastic "seal" around the lid.

How sturdy do you need it to be?  Also, it's not going to be taking waves or anything, just whatever water gets into your hull (which shouldn't be a whole lot) AND, that drybag solution that Allen uses just won my heart for future batter planning.

In my yak, the battery box has been loosely mounted on the installed shelf. While moving the yak on and off the car, the box sometimes tumbles off the shelf and bounces around a bit. This is where a thin, cheap plastic cover might crack.

However, I agree with you about Allen's dry bag solution. I'll be trying this option next. I just picked up a roll of flexible zip line for power cord. If it gets damaged, it will be quick and cheap to replace.

The clear plastic dry boxes from Dicks look sturdy, and have the silicoln seal in the lid.  I may go with the dry bag option as well, who knows?

At that price, it is worth exploring some options
