I've been assured that I have the WAF sufficient for a day trip. Some possibilities-

  • Skagit spring kings, between Cascade R. mouth (Marblemount) and 530 bridge (Rockport)
  • Icicle R. springers
  • Lake Chelan lakers
  • Buffaloe Lake, on the Colville Res. (could also check out Omak and Big Goose Lakes.)
  • Banks Lake, for ?

I'd like to keep any drive to less than 2 hours, one way. Any takers, or better ideas?

Icicle R. Springers are out- someone stole :o, or released 200+ fish from the holding pens at the Leavenworth federal fish hatchery, so the state has closed the river to give the hatchery a chance to get more broodstock.

I'm leaning towards heading out to Banks Lake.

I heard about those springers.  Who would steal 200 fish from a hatchery?  That sucks!

Here's a good report on Banks ...http://www.bigwallysfishing.com/report.html
