I have had my Kayak a couple of months now and love it. I was going to buy the Hummingbird 587ci model. Now I am leaning towards just a color finder and no GPS. With the solar shield where it is at getting to the unit is a little difficult and I have a Megellan Trident handheld GPS. I find having color makes it a lot easier to see. I think I will stay with Hummingbird because of the Kayak package and the scupper transducer. Any input or suggestions here!

I find GPS very useful.  You can mark your crab trap locations, mark fish, structure, features, plan your fishing, and when the wind blows and the seas rise it is comforting to know you are making headway home.

On my T13A I put the FF/GPS on a combination of Scotty/RAM mounts and extension arm.  I used the sonar shield to mount a power plug and store excess cable, as well as gloves hats, etc.

The site is a little embarrassing but the info is there:
