The family and I are going to escape the heat of the east side of the mountains, this weekend, and head to OR to see family. Probably won't have time to fish in PDX, but we'll be out at Nehalem Bay SP, Monday-Thursday.

Crabbing in the bay is a no-brainer, but it seems a little early for kings. Tempting to try B10, especially since it would save me the cost of daily non-resident OR license, but the distance and the tides don't look all that great. (The flood is in the afternoon, when the winds can pipe up.)

If things are flat, saltwater for rockies and lings would be fun. I'm probably not going to get any other chances, this year. Surf is always dicey in the wherry, though... ::)

Tuesday or Wednesday are probably my best bets of getting a hall pass. Let me know if any of you are interested in meeting up.

The Magic Seaweed forecast for early next week is looking outstanding! Small (2.5') swells with long (~15 sec.) periods. In a halfway protected location, I could probably launch my wherry! Still early, but I'm hopeful... ::)
