After seeing that I feel very lucky that I have the ability to go and catch my own seafood instead of having to just never eat most seafood I come across again!

That is scary, especially since I have family members allergic to certain antibiotics.  I would not have thought you had to worry about it in fish.  We only buy fish from local producers or Alaska when we cook it at home.  Unfortunately, I don't always know where its coming from when I eat out. :P

Mercury isn't really something I'm worried about after digging for info to convince my lady to eat the fish I catch:
EPA, FDA, Mercury Facts

Green tea is also supposed to help the body eliminate mercury and other heavy metals from your body.

I'm not the least surprised.

I *do* sell imported fish - Ecuadorian Farmed Tillapia.  But one of the higher ups has been to the facilities, and OKed it as they operated on US standards.  Occasionally our Mahi will be from Costa Rica, but fresh and wild caught fish aren't going to have the problems the program was addressing.

The article was addressing farmed fishes again.  We all should know this is bad.  Farmed shrimp is one of the worst practices out there - more damaging to the environment than farming salmon, and packed full of crap you wouldn't even want under your kitchen sink.

Hi welcome to Dead Lobster, tonight's special is almond erythromycin glazed cod with fresh steamed malachite greens. We like to think we're fairly progressive up here, uhh Governor Kulongoski where are we with our imported seafood testing program?

That's the good thing about catching my own, I don't need or even want to order fish at a restaraunt cause i most likely just had it at home..
