plastics for salmon?

Yeah...those will be a cheap option over what is already being used.  I can just see it already....a 6 pack of Gulp! Alive cut plugs for $17.99.

In the mean time, why not marinate your chovies, herring, and sardines in some Gulp! Alive magic juice?

thats a good idea, but i can also do the reverse and marinate the artificials in smelly jelly or mike's scents, too....did it with E-Z Eggs and worked out great.

one of the reasons i am leaning so heavily towards artificials for salmon, is that i do not have the space, extra fridge/freezer or time to go the natural route. yes it may be a bit cheaper using the "real McCoy" but i have to also look at the factors i just mentioned.

add in, living in the grand, un- incorporated  Valhalla of Peirce County known as Graham, it's about 20 miles to anything remotely resembling a bait shop selling any type of colored label baitfish anything... but, i can go around 5 miles and pick up most of the artificial stuff at wally world or freddie's.

Actually, we rig them on 1.5-2 ounce spear point jigheads.  Slide them up the tube, poke a hole on top for the hook eye and pop it through.  Get jiggy with it.  This method work well when you find a shallow water baitball.
