Baitrix tunable baits

I just got my order of tunable herring plastics from Baitrix.
They definitely look like herring, are pretty soft, and have a thin metal sheet embedded in them that makes them tunable.  I need to figure out how to rig them, and may give them a shot in Tillamook bay this weekend.

They are definitely anise scented.  I could smell them through the mailer (in fact, when I opened the post box I got a big whiff of anise).

Are they shiny???
