Hello all,

   My daughter and I have been bank fishing the lower canal (around hood sport) alot this year and I have yet to see anyone in a kayak fishing it yet. We did see one person with a rigged kayak on their truck but they were banking it.  We have seen lots of kings come in and I hear we have a good push of silvers and chums.  There are several places to put in almost right on the fish.  so has anyone tried it out here?  Next year we will be spending a lot of time out there after we get our kayaks so I will be able to give some first hand reports.

I haven't had a chance to hit up Hood Canal yet.  I know Wayne hits it up for SRC's.  Perhaps when the chum/silvers get going I can bring a couple of kayaks down for you and your daughter to try out.  Let's keep that in mind for this fall.

At the risk of sounding like a total newbie (which I am) What are SRC's

I really appreciate the offer of trying out the kayaks.  It's a huge decision to make on how to do things and we want to do it right.  We'll keep everyone informed for when the silvers and chums come in.

SRC= Sea Run Cutthroat

Should be good for kings and humps, now, with silvers just a few weeks away.

AHHH  well from what I have seen this year there is a good amount of SRC's  my daughter caught 2 on day one was 21" the other 19"  nice big fish.  It looks like the humpies are mostly done here but a few do come in here and there. As for kings they tell me we have another month of them, and that they should start coming in a little thicker.  It sounds like the silvers should start trickling in a little at time. we are heading out today to the local river "SKOK" tonight.  it does look like there are a couple places on the lower river that you could put in a kayak and fish.

thanks
