From WDFW:

Quote

Anglers will soon have an opportunity to catch lunker trout in Beaver Lake near Issaquah, thanks to the release of about 2,300 hatchery rainbows averaging about 2 to 3 pounds each.

Last year the shore fishers nailed them at the south end plunking with PowerBait.  Boaters were also catching them, anchored and plunking at the south end.  Trolling was much less effective.  These fish are STUPID and used to hatchery meals.  Last year I saw some beautiful fish - none mine.

Great info!

I looked on the WDFW site and I did not see this posted. Was it in a Newspaper? People in the AOTY that are short in points should tap into this before the season is completed!

I get email notifications from WDFW every time they publish an emergency rule change or something like this article.

Demonick, they sell powerbait that looks and smells like hatchery food.  You could give that a try, and there isn't anything wrong with plunking from the kayak   :)

Haze Gray,

I included a link to help you sign up for WDFW news letters. Just look to the right side and you will see the e-mail list box. Just click on that link and it will guide you through the process.-Cav

I was worried it was gonna taste like cardboard...you know like the u fish trout that kids catch at Sportco during the summer sale. But, it actually pretty decent eating besides the fact that it was so oily. I threw it on the grill and it kept kicking up flames.  :P

How did you catch it?  Want to post your trip report on the WA Fishing Reports (members only) forum?
