First we were gonna fish for Sturgeon on the Coos and we scratched that idea in favor of a more sure thing at my perch spot in Charleston. We even planned and agrred to meet at Charleston harbor. After getting of the phone and actually looking at the tide book, i realized that the tides were totally screwy for us to even attempt to fish there.

What Dana(yaksurf) and i settled for was plan C....Lake fishing at Woahink for perch and trout.  To say plan C was settling was totally wrong. The lake today was a consistent producer of large perch. We caught almost identical monster 12 3/4 and 13 inch Yellow Perch among numerous smaller ones.

I managed a small Cuttie, my first in Oregon and froim my kayak.

The weather went from kinda bad to crappy..from crappy to pretty shitty...and from pretty shitty to just all f'd up!! and we came back to launch with  soggy butts and ear to ear grins. It was a blast.

Yea, his older one got the infamous drive well leak and tHobie credited him a good amount towards a new hull. I'm still not used to pulling up and seeing a blue outback on his trailer.

Plan C worked out great.  We caught some nice perch Roy's was 1/4" bigger than mine.  By the end of the day I was wet at least it wasn't freezing cold.
Here is a of pic of Roy with his fatty Yellow Perch.

Your shiny new ride looks sweet Dana. Yet another case study to diminish the cognitive dissonance that develops when shelling out the big $$ for a Hobie.

Nice job on the fish and your pruned keisters!
