The Bay 1/24/11

yaksurf came down and we fished the bay at charleston. The current was ridiculous. was supposed to be barely over 5 foot swing but something was wacky today slack tide was after the printed high tide.

I had a bad day fishing, got only one fish in the boat. many fish came unbuttoned or broke off, including one way, way too big for the 8 pound test trout pole i was using, Propbably a cabbie, just couldn't keep it out of the rocks.

Donated many jigs...

Then i get home to a little slip of paper from the PO...missed the delivery of my new hummingbird....Dammnit! I could be playing with my new toy right now!

Dana kicked butt today. No Lings or Blacks but he did have a three AOTY fish day, including his first  Copper Rockfish.

It was a nice day on the coast the weather was great for January.  We fought the incoming tide for a couple of hours (or more) when slack finally came it was a welcome relief.
I had a 3 atoy fish DAY!!!!
