Hi everyone,
I have been lurking on the forum for about a year now, and decided it’s about time to join. I have been a fisherman for many years, mostly fly fishing, but I will use what ever tactics to land a salmon. I was getting sick of the lack of beach fishing access around the Puget Sound, so was looking for other options. I can’t believe I never came across kayak fishing before. Finally saved up enough to order a 2011 Hobie adventure, I can’t wait to get it. I will mainly be targeting the Puget Sound for salmon, halibut, and lingcod. Any way, thanks for all your posts and helpful information. I look forward to become part of your group and meeting some of you out on the water.

Jeremy

Welcome aboard KFish!  I look forward to watching you move up the learning curve.  You've got several people in your area who can probably help to accelerate it.

Welcome to NWKA!  I came to kayak fishing after realizing the lack of shore fisheries as well.  It's a whole new ballgame from a 'yak.

Z- Where the heck is Kiyu-kiyuatch?  I've been trying to figure that out for the past couple days...

Here.  ;)

This is the statue at Richmond Beach park. Kiyukiyuatch is the original Salish name for the land in and around Richmond Beach. Politics aside, gotta respect to the locals.

Thanks for the welcome guys!! A kayaking journal sounds like a good idea. I was also wondering where Kiyu-kiyuatch was. Ive kiteboarded richmond beach many times and don't remember seeing that statue, pretty cool.

Welcome to the forum.  I also got into a kayak after frustration with shore fishing Puget Sound.  What part of the sound are you near.  I'm near Kiyu-kiyuatch.  I've probably seen your kite.
