Hi All,
I am new to the sport and to this club so I would like to introduce myself.  I live in Beaverton, OR and spend my non-water time teaching. I am an avid hunter and fisherman who happens to have balance problem. I found kayaking last year and have spent much of  the fall hunting out of my kayak.  I floated the Umpqua last summer and became addicted to yak fishing.  I am a newbie and am willing to listen and learn.  The story about the point sort of makes me little nervous.

I paddle a Freedom Hawk 12 and will be lurking in the forum absorbing everything you throw out.

SteveHawk.

Welcome to the cure----my daughter lives in the Pearl district, she just bought a Hobie revolution, she's keeping it at the Alder Creek Jantzen beach marina-- when I go down to PDX for a paddle we'd love to hook up with some of the Portland crew on the river!

Welcome aboard Stevehawk!  You came to the right place.
There's lots of good local kayak fishing around here and lots of people to hook up with for trips.

Welcome to the board and hopefully see you on the water.   I have always wanted to hunt off my yak, if you ever need a partner let me know.

Its been a long time since I have done any duck or goose hunting.  Maybe we should have a NWKA 'cast and blast'.  Welcome aboard.

If I keep welcoming people I may just graduate from "plankton". Its nice to not be the only newbie. Part of the reason I signed up is so I don't have to see the banner across the screen on my mobile while lurking. It is also nice to have the support of fellow kayak anglers, since I get none from my wife.

I have the same problem.  Also, she doesn't support the kayak fishing much either ;D

Welcome abourd from another newbie.  I get decent support from my wife for yak fishing. She gives me 1 day during the week (I work FR, SAT , SUN-3 12 hr shifts) where she pays for daycare for the kids to give me time for fishing and Disc Golfing.  I knew I married the right woman when she asked what else I needed to help me with getting my kayak set up and then proceeded to buy me a fishfinder, Wheeleez, and a johnny bar for the yak.
When in doubt, throw a line out!

I think that i will go with the cast and cast theme.  Getting up at 3:00 in the morning started to get old in November.  As for my wife... she is thrilled that it is something other than duck. I think she would push me out the door for some steelhead or Salmon.

On another note.  Has anyone fished the lower Wilson?
