Hola my friends,
WILLY'S ON FIRE!!! I put in late yesterday afternoon around 3:45ish. Within around 5 minutes or so of my bait hitting bottom.....tap......tap. It was off to the races. Sleigh ride, surfaced, boated, photo, you know the rest.. Peddled backed to my anchor, casted back into the channel, AGAIN, within 10 minutes or so.....tap.....tap. All in all, I ended up catching 3 fish within about 1 hour 30 minutes. I didn't have a tape measure, but guessing fish length was somewhere between 40-42, 38-40 and the last fish not pictured was around 36. I'll take that kinda fishing anyday!
REMINDER......If you live anywhere near Portland, HIT THE WILLY!!!!!! With this cold air lately, thye water conditions are perfect. We should all meet up for a friendly derby one day this weekend.
Now get out there and rip some lips.

I'd make the drive and join you if it wasn't C&R only. Otherwise looks like a blast!

Isn't ODFW supposed to meet amy time now to determine if they are going to open it back up or with what restrictions?

Erik
Better to keep ones mouth shut and presumed a fool than to open it and remove all doubt.

I believe they meet tomorrow, which means it could be open by Saturday. I'm guessing it should switch back to the wed - sat are retention days only. I guess we'll see.

The meeting between OR and WA in scheduled for Tuesday, 2/8. They will set the season for the Columbia and Willamette. I'm hoping to get out at George Rogers this weekend to test my new anchor and retrieve the old one (if possible).

I think I will be heading out there in the morning.  I have some sand shrimp that are itchin' to be used for bait.  I will look for your anchor.  I think I remember about where you lost it.

Anyone else interested?

-Craig

It looks like I'll be out there on Sunday. Should be a quiet day on the water.

I may do both days.   That would be a first for me since moving to Oregon. Fishing 2 consecutive days!  What time are you shooting for on Sunday?

Is it catch and keep, or fillet and release???

Yeah, I read this earlier today in the Oregonian.  Something needs to be done about it.
