Back in December I popped into Rack n Road in Seattle to inquire about a roof rack for my Hobie Pro Angler.  I have an older pickup truck which will haul two Pro Anglers if you stack em.  For better gas mileage and solo trips I wanted to see if the Yakima rack do the job.  The Pro Angler is a heavy "boat" of a kayak tipping the scales at 80lb plus.  Loading it from the front or back of the vehicle wasn't an option as the hood  and rear hatch stick out too far to be able to utilize Yakima's roller bar.  I found that loading from the passenger side of the vehicle was my only option.  It was pretty easy to do and the roller bar comes off pretty easy when I'm not using my kayak.   All in all, a great solution without investing in a trailer!

You should get a rack for the Pro Angler so it can haul the Prius ....

Yeah really.  My girlfriend had a little fun with Photoshop and thought we should devise a rack to hold two (and she'd like her name on the side too).

That would be a sight to see, wonder if it would actually stay on the ground at highway speed?
See ya on the water..

I think I'd worry more about going under a bridge.

I wouldn't worry about bridges..unless you decide to do a little modification.

Looks like your neighbors across the street got a great deal on the extra floor added to their houses, too!   ;D
