Anyone had any experience with the Explorer Seat?  As I need everything except the Kayak, I was thinking of getting one of the value packages at KFS.  I'm not really sure about that seat.  Also, their Extrasport Osprey fishing vest they offer looks to have too many pockets, and may be hard to do a deepwater re-entry in if you have a lot of stuff in it.  I know the Solstice is highly recommended in another thread here.  KFS doesn't have my size in stock.  Gold package link below with the seat and fishing vest and stuff.  I think the paddle is a bit overkill for a beginner though.

I checked a few other sites that also don't have the Solstice available.  I think I may end up going to Next Adventure and Alder Creek Kayak in Portland next Thursday and see what they have.  Any thoughts on other types of seats I should be looking into?

I have a cloth and a sponge foam seat.
I like the cheaper foam seat for prolonged periods of arse sittin.
If I have to buy again it would just be the foam type.

Surf To Summit seats ... treat your backside since you'll be sitting on it for 10 hours at a time.

I don't like the Osprey because, yes, it has too many pockets.

I never think that paddles are overkill.  They are your direct connection to the water.  I can turn a slow boat into a bearable boat just by changing paddles.
