Thinking of buying a salmon rod??

Someone is selling his Lamiglass G1308-T rod it’s a older model has a all metal  reel seat and missing one guide that I can repair myself the other guides are fine. Would this rod be good for trolling flashers w/ herring rig using 2-8 ounce weight teamed up with an Abu Garcia 5500c3
He will sell the rod as is for 55.00 I think it’s a good deal?
