Last Saturday I went out to George Roger's Park again.  Ndogg, Jammer, and Spot also made the attempt at a keeper.  Ndogg came the closest with a nice fat, but slightly undersized fish. Unfortunately, he forgot his memory card for his camera. Jammer was nearby, but his batteries were dead in his camera, so I a made an attempt to capture the action from across the river with the PlaySport.  I trimmed the part where the boat wake hits me so no one gets sea sick watching it.  Its not very high quality due to the distance, but it does show how fat the fish was.

After six hours with freezing feet and only a couple nibbles, I decided to call it quits.  I paddled back to shore to load up shortly after Jammer had left. During my first attempt at loading up, my kayak fell off the wheel-ez cart. That's when I heard Spot yelling at me.  He had hooked into an under-sized fish, so I decided to paddle back out and give it another try.  He graciously let me hook up next to him on his anchor and we started getting bites. Spot pointed out the current NWKA sturgeon theory:  Whenever Jammer leaves, people catch sturgeon.  ;D We proceeded to add more evidence to back up this theory.

Is it just me, or do they appear to be smiling at each other:

This one maybe should have been in the 'sturgeon fishsticks' thread started by ndogg.

I met up with Jammer yesterday for a couple hours at GR Park again.  I was skunked, but Jammer caught an almoster measuring 37.5 inches.   We had to leave at about the same time, so I didn't get to put the theory to the test. ;)  We didn't want to be late to watch the Winterhawks spank the Seattle Thunderbirds.  I think its the first game I have ever seen where two players got hat-tricks.

Welcome back Nate! I'm glad you responded to this thread as I had somehow missed it. Cool pics and video. I'm stoked to have finally broken the curse. Somehow this curse was happening without my control, but now my mojo seems to be back. Or at least kinda...
I did make it out last night from 5pm to 6:15(light later now) for a little CNR and had some sweet shaker action. I ended up dragging two up that were around 30 and 34ish. I lost something very large and also saw the biggest sturgeon that Ive ever seen come up and surface 20 feet in front of my anchored yak. I'm guessing it's length had to have been in the low 50's, but what was more shocking to me was how thick it was. It looked like at least 12 inches wide.
Anyone up for Saturday?
Cheers!

There is a possibility I can make it Saturday afternoon. Not sure yet, though.

Still debating Saturday fishing options with rain, high river levels and wind...

I fished lower multnomah channel today. Two hours only got me one shaker and a couple missed bites. More importantly though I watched six of the eight pb around me pull anchor and peel out mumbling about no action.
