If any of you happen to have an old fiber optic verizon internet box in your house they have 12v 5.0 or 7.0 Ah battery as a back up you can scavenge from. I just take the battery and hook it to my 3 amp car battery charger. Works great and who doesn’t like free?

Here is my battery setup.  It is a 12 V battery rated for 5 amp hrs, I got it at radio shack a few years back.  With my new Eagle 350 with GPS I have run it for 12 hours straight with problems.   It is housed in a cheap dry box with a watertight cord grip pass through.  The plug at the end is a 2-pole trailer harness.   I used this plug because it creates a watertight  connection with the fish finder and it plugs directly into my charger.  The charger is a cheap trickle charger from Walmart.    I also keep spare fuses and dielectric grease in the dry box.
