Hello my Friends,
The Next Adventure Summer Splash went off without a hitch yesterday, but I wanted to show you all the HD video that Craig and I filmed of our test sail of the Mirage Tandem Island. The temp in PDX yesterday was 86 and the wind was a little spotty out of the NNE at around 8-10. These kayaks are INCREDIBLE!!!! Thanks again for all the NWKA support on the river yesterday.
Cheers!

If you want to view in HD just choose the 720HD option from the reso tab in the bottom menu bar...

Looks like a blast! I demoed a Revo previously, those are some nice kayaks. all I caught this weekend was a real bad cold or small flu. >:(

No paddling, but I managed to get some bungee cord on the kayak.End of week 1 with the kayak, and no paddling.ARGGH.

Nice ride!

All those kayaks on the water looked like "caddy day in the pool."

Yes sir, that thing is fun!  The wife and I took it out for a little while.  It was kind of tricky to get the hang of at first, but that thing can really move!  I think I will probably be borrowing that a few times over the summer.

Craig, Jammer,
how wet is the ride?

how supportive are the seats?

can a 6 footer use the front seat with the mast and sail installed?

Wow looks like so much fun.

I am tempted to get the sail and mast kit for the Adventure.

The ride was a little wet, but not bad.  It felt good on a hot day.  It was probably more wet for me.  I was in the rear seat and there were scupper plugs installed.  I had to remove one plug to drain the water so my butt could dry out after we took a wake broadside.  The thing was awesome.  I may start saving up for one.  I think it would be worth every penny, all 4,995,000 of them.  As for a 6 footer sitting in it, no problem.  I'm 6 foot and Jammer is a couple (or more) inches taller and he was up front controlling the boat.  I was in back with the bottle opener.   >:D

Oh, and the seats were fairly comfortable.

The Adventure Island boats are awesome.  I've loved mine.  I'm hoping that some day I'll be able to get worn parts repaired, add the trampolines, maybe compare the newer versions to my beat up boat.  Looks like advancements are happening all the time.

Holy crap batman... for $49,950 I hope the seats were comfortable!  ;)

The more I see the Adventure/Adventure Island the more I am convinced that will be my next kayak.  Thanks for the great video.

Nice catch on the mathematics Yarjammer... :)
That was such a smooth sail. I was very surprised with how easy it was to handle. I haven't sailed in about 15 years and was impressed at how easy it was to jump in and takeoff. You can cover a ton water too. When the wind dies out or you're pulling into the beach, harbor or flooded city park, you can release the sheet from the cleat and the sail rolls up on the mast in about 2 seconds. Then you can go anywhere without the sail because of the 2 Mirage Drives w/turbo fins.. Even with the sail rolled up, Craig and I were using the 2 Mirage Drives only and we're comfortably sustaining a 6-7 mph speed.. If you guys ever want to try/demo a 1 seat Adventure Island, contact the Next Adventure Paddle Center for free demo's.. 503 445 9435 or send myself, Rawkfish or Ndogg a PM and we'll get you lined up..
Cheers!!
ps...now back to kayak fishing.

Math?? Never was my strong suit.  What can I say, I have a degree in microbiology.  Or, maybe I was calculating the attorney costs for the divorce had I whipped out the credit card and did an impulse purchase.  I was very tempted, believe me.
