Coos Bay can provide fishing, crabbing & clamming. Sunset Bay has a State campground (fills up quick in summer) as well as excellent opportunity for calm launch & paddle area for kids to learn. Several of us know the area pretty well & could likely get you into some black r. f.  & maybe some crab. The area has great accommodations for camping or RV. I could probly hook you up for an RV site even during July 4th. PM if interested.
Thanks for the info PNW.  The current plan is to stay in the general Washington area, but since there is some flexibility I can see if we can squeeze a night of camping there, as we have never been to Coos Bay.  If we can firm up a date to be there, I'll have a pm into you for sure!

Many thanks to Ravdakot for taking my friend and I out for flounder and crab. Despite managing only 1small sole, 1 dungie and 2 rock crabs it was a beautiful day to be out on the water.  So far we have gotten lots of clams and some crab. Fish would be nice, but it may not be meant to be since we leave here wednesday morning.

Oh well, there is always next year!
