Yaksurf, PNW, and myself will be hitting the Willy tomorrow at 5 for some springer fun. We are going to see if we can get some action down here in Eugene! Anyone else want to join us? Even though the water is running pretty high, we are scouting some areas that are paddle-able here. With some luck we might even find Mr. Fishey!

We (Yaksurf) and I fished. We mised you Paul... I hate it when work cuts into fishing time! We checked out a certain paddleable area that I've had my eye on. There is considerable current so there is the whole anchoring situation to stay on spot. As long as we could get our achor set we could drop a line without too much effort while paddleing into the current. I did hook up with one for about 10 or 15 seconds, but lost it. I think this proved that with our kayaks, we have every bit of access as a drift boat does, except for anchoring safety issues in swift current. Another approach worth taking advantage of is that having the ability to at least pack gear to a remote area where we can fish from the bank. Our intention is to scout out more areas. About all of the Willamette or the McKenzie around here is able to be paddled. They are just waiting to be exploited by some kayak fishermen!

We are going to try again this week.
