Finally made it out in the salt at Pacific City yesterday Monday June 27th. Surf was knee high during morning launch and noon-ish return. Released about five undersize lings and several small black rocks. All fish came on the root beer scampi w/three ounce jig head. I was about to call it a day with two keeper size blacks for dinner when BAM! Mr. cabbie hit the root beer scampi. After about a five minute fight, dinner had an upgrade. My biggest Cabazon to date. Fun stuff!

Nice.  What was in that cabbie's gut?

Nice job Mean Joe!

I'm really liking the new ODFW rules this year regarding getting the full year to fish for Cabezon by having a 1 fish limit per day.
The quota was getting sucked up so fast by the power boaters when it was wide open, that by the time the water was safe enough for kayaker's we couldn't retain what was caught.
A lot more yakers are pulling up some nice Cabbies this year as a result.

Again, nice dinner filling Cabbie there, Joe.

I didn't have a scale to weigh it, but estimated 13#
