My wife and I rented a couple of kayaks last weekend, and now we have the bug and are looking for a couple of sit on top kayaks. Eventually I would like to get up to a hobie adventure type kayak and do some fishing off the Oregon coast, but for now I am thinking about just getting something that will get us through the next year. My wife wants a small kayak like the Ocean Kayak Mysto that we rented. I would like to get something a little longer and set up for fishing. I see that the upgrade path is pretty common on this forum, so I am sure there have to be a few older kayaks laying around  ;D
Thanks!
Dan

Anybody upgrading this year?

Brian, you still looking to part with your old T13?

If you're at all handy, I've got a Cobra Pro Fisherman that takes on water from god knows where.  I've got a stable of OK's and Cobras so I never took the time to search for the leak.  I'm sure it could be turned into a solid river or lake boat but wouldn't want anyone taking it on the ocean.

I've got a Cobra explorer... I think, I can never remember if its an explorer or a navigator ::).  Bought it for the wife (she liked paddling it) but I can see the her liking the Outbacks more and it not getting used much. Its at the coast now but I'm headed down this week and could bring it back with me to the PDX area if you are interested.

I just googled the Cobra Explorer, and that seems like it would be a good size for my wife. How much do you want for it? I'm sure my wife is going to ask what color ::) Its hard to believe that a kayak doesn't get used much in Netarts! I love that area!

Let just say we're not short of boats around my place, betweeb powerboats, kayaks and canoes we are in solid double digits ::) ???..  The yak is a light charcol grey, I've got a seat and a real basic paddle I'd throw in with it.  I'll shoot you a PM and we can talk turkey

The search is over! Picked up a couple of kayaks from pelagic paddler this morning! Thanks everyone! Now to figure out how to mount one of my fishfinders on mine! I'm pretty sure my wife isn't going to let me play with hers  ;D

Grats on the boats. Sounds like we need a NWKA swap meet / yard sale.

dan,
start in the 'drillin and cuttin" section of the forums. tons of information and many articles are linked to other and sometimes even more informative articles.

if my motivationally challenged posterior can mount one, you can too.

sounds like you found a good source for starter yaks. have fun as this madness takes an ever bigger hold on you.,

That Pro-fish sounds interesting as a 2nd yak,Spot. I just finished adding sealant to 4 flush mounts, the 10" hatch perimeter, and 4 rudder fittings, hoping to seal my Marauder after ORC prefish put about 1.5 qts from leaking in my yak. Now I'm trying to sort out the perfect scotty mount location.

Make me an offer.
