Saw you out there yesterday. Sorry I couldn't stay to chat. Was just out clearing my traps. Does seem like the crabbing is a bit slow this year.

I thought that was you.  On the way in I checked your floats and noted the icon.  I pulled the traps out of the water yesterday and had 15 - all dungies.  Culled it down to 5 keepers.  Cooked, cleaned, and on ice for a friend's get together today.

Did you try for salmon also like you had mentioned? They are hitting on a Kone Zone flasher, 36" leader with a silver/green nit comb ;).

While the traps soaked on Saturday I trolled for about 4 hours between Boeing Creek and Point Wells.  Tried a small kone zone flasher, small dodgers, dragging hootchies and coho killers.  Nada.  Trolled waters from 50' to 300' deep.  It was also mid-day, starting on a low tide.  Did see solitary, shallow fish on the FF.   A lot of little fish jumping (5-8").  No hits, and a lot of salad in and around the rips.

There was a north wind so on the way back from Wells Point so I unfurled the Wind Paddle and sailed south.  Light wind almost got me to 3 kts, so after a while furled the sail and peddled to make better time.  The Wind Paddle worked well and was easy to control, unfurl, and furl while on the water.  With a 5+ kt wind it would be useful.  Next time out if I get skunked I'll try tacking.
