Was curious to see if anyone had any ideas about fishing around the San Juans. My wife and I are going to be up there this week and I am bringing my kayak. I would really like to get into some kings but would enjoy fishing for anything. Any ideas about safer/ more productive waters would be greatly appreciated.

Also not sure if there are any "best practices" techniques and or baits but I have not tried jigging for salmon and would really like to give it a go. My assumption is that I'm just going to be out looking for birds flyting over bait balls but would appreciate any advise I can get. Lure selection is always appreciated. Style, color and size.

Thanks

TX. Take a look at johnssportinggoods.com and maybe call and ask for John. I just started working there 3 days ago and he would be the man in the know. He's the fish guru of the Puget Sound/San
Juans/BC fishing scene. If he's too busy to talk(very possible)pm me back and I'll get the low down
for you. I do know that Possession Bar has been producing well this week with the Kings bigger by about 5 lbs than normal. Seen pics of fish from low 20's-30lbs. Most of the fish have been taken deep on downriggers. Mention my name to john and indicate you're yak fishing.
