We made it out for a couple of hours on saturday, the area right out of union is sheltered pretty good so wind was not bad,  we only had a couple hours since the wife had some stuff going on but we got to try out our yaks and to my surprise all of are additions worked even the FF.  then sunday we went to hoodsport, when the weather died down about 1100 and put in at the public morage there, it is only a couple hundred yards form the hatchery and made a nice launch.  we saw plenty of chum jumping and alot on the ff but the wind was a bit much and I ended up having to tow the daughter back so we called it quits.  no fish but we learned a lot and got to try out all of our stuff.  now we know we need anchor and maybe a drift sock plus more weight for the bobber rigs we were using.

I did drive through the area on friday and saw the north beach kayak place but did even know that was a launch,  I though it was a new kayak store coming in!

Good to know it's a bit sheltered out there HH. Thanks for the intel.

Nice work PS!! That's a beaut of a steelie. Hope to make a few trips out your way for some river action. Do you know of some nearby rivers that are good fishin and driftable in a yak?

The Methow is low, but floatable. I'd probably float from hole to hole, and beach to fish.

The Wenatchee is bigger and is a little more serious of a river. Non-floating access is tougher, though. This is the first year in 10 that it's been opened.

Took clients out on the Methow, today. We went 1 for 4. Client busted of 2. I had an LDR and a wild fish photoed and released.

Too bad a client had fat fingers-

Pisco,

So why is the fisherman's head trimmed off in the photo?  Is that to protect the identity of the fat-fingered client?  Wow!  I hope he doesn't stumble onto this site and bust you.  :D

Very nice fish, BTW.

If at first you don't succeed....  maybe skydiving is just not for you.

The client (a she) was having trouble with the phone/camera concept. I'd be very surprised if she ever found this site. Here's another photo, that includes my head, but a worse view of the fish.
