Well, I've been lurking for a while, figured I'd take the time and say hello. I've been kayak fishing for a couple summers now, but just started getting more serious about it this spring.  What a great forum.

Right now I have a OK scupper pro, it tracks great & is pretty quick, but unfortunately it's the 2 hatch model, so no tank well.  It's been great for multiple day trips, but i want something that my gear is more accessible in.  I have my eye on upgrading to a t13 or maybe t15, but keep on getting beat to the punch when i find a good deal  :P

Would like to know what you guys who have more experience with different models would suggest.  I spend a lot of time in the North Oregon coastal bays & estuaries, as well as the CR & willy, along with many of the mountain lakes.  Looking for a good yak to get into surf launching along with the areas mentioned above, so let me know what you guys think!  Oh BTW, I cant afford a Hobie right now so thats not in the picture -- Anthony

Welcome!!!

That Scupper 2 hatch is a great boat and has a bit of a cult following.   If you like that kayak, you'll find most other SOTs to be slow.  Wish I was up there as I'd trade you a tankwell scupper for the 2 hatcher!!!

Both the T13 and T15 are great boats.  I've owned both and have settled on the T13 as my primary boat.  It's a tad slower than the T15, but not much, and the smaller size makes it easier to handle.

Good luck on finding a new kayak.  We just had a bunch of screaming deals posted in our classifieds here.  It's that time of year to start seeing them.  So keep your eyes open.

Thanks for the reply.  I'm curious as to why you prefer the 2 hatch over the tw model of the scupper pro?
