On the fence as of where to fish this Saturday.

Not too excited to fish Hagg Lake, so I am thinking George Roger park area (Willy River), or Vancouver Marine Park (Columbia River).

Would like to get into some Walleye to eat, but leery of Willamette meat.

Who wants to help me make a decision here, were ya gunna be Saturday?

I'm a bit of a novice but would be up for meeting at Vancouver Marine Park. When would you like to meet?

Not sure?
I'm lazy, and have a bit of a drive to get over there, so I'd say sometime between 8-10am.
I usually don't go much more than maybe a mile or so either up or down the river, so finding me shouldn't be hard.

I'll have my flag up and VHF on Ch 69 if anyone else pops in over there.

What about fall nooks in that same area? I might be able to make it but I'm not sure what the best time to fish the area would be with the tides. I've seen some reports of some really nice fish around there.

I didn't purchase the tags for the big game fish, nor the proper gear to target them, nor join AOTY this year, as I focused my 99% of my free time attention and $$$$ towards completing my kayak carrying popup trailer and the 2.5 week SE Oregon desert vacation I just got back from with it.  I will have the funding and time to fish next year to give salmon, steelhead and sturgeon a good college try.

Soooo, the remainder of this year I am going to see if I can scrounge up some Walleye and hopefully get back out in the ocean a few more times.   Love me some fish taco's!   ;)

You're going to be hooked once you do! I'm going to shoot for fishing the Columbia Saturday and will have VHF on 69 as well. What method do you use to go after Walleye? I'm never caught one before.

I bump a bottom walker down stream and something wobbly upstream.

I realize it's kinda late to be responding to your post, but I'd be game to meet up with you to target some walleye. Let me know if you're interested

It was a futile attempt.  Way too many boats on the river running wide open throttle through the NON channel area.  I was in 5-15 feet of water looking for holes to pass over, and was constantly waked by 2-4 boats at a time.  Did catch a pretty large Democrat though.  Fought like a wounded sock.  Also one walleye rig, and one jig.  >:(

Got a nice tan though!   8)

Too bad. It seems earlier is probably the way to go on days like those. I got off the water about 1030 and there were a crap load of boats on the ramp.
