Hey all,

Sadly do to too many family commitments yesterday I was not able to fish in the Next Adventure tourney (which I read was great!). However, I was able to get out today for a few hours (9:00am-1:00pm). I went out of George Rogers park again and again I had good success with the deep running crankbait. I caught a total of 8 smallmouth and 1 largemouth- my fish largemouth in the kayak :) The biggest one was probably about 16" I am basing this on the photo from the bottom of my outback the distance between the 2 anchors is ~14" center to center and the fish is hanging off on both sides (I need to get a measuring stick).  I tried for a topwater bite first thing but I could not get any love. All the smallmouth were on the crankbait and the largemouth was on a small spinnerbait. Attached are a pic of the biggest fish and a second that was just a hair smaller.

Tight lines everyone.

I meant to mention in my post that if you go to George Rogers be careful going up and down the ramp. It was extremely slippery with all the rain. I almost wiped out on the way down and slipped a lot on the way back up. Next time I am packing my ice creepers (rubber strap on cleats) for going up and down that ramp!

I noticed the gravity field increases there after you start fishing.  Going back up that hill seems way harder than it should be.

Thanks for the report.  I love seeing photos of those fat Willy River smallies.
Water everywhere, but not a drop to drink.

Nice fish pdx.  I am new at bass fishing and I tried poppers on the upper Willy yesterday but no luck on top. I tried because I notice some fish jumping in the weed beds. I am going to have to go out with someone to show me the finer points of bassin.
