anyone ever fish with kwickfish?

When replacing the crappy trebble hooks, has anyone found the perfect size single hook's to use to keep the lure running true?

I've been running K-13's..14's and 15's......

thanks,,

3/0 to 5/0 depending on size.  Also, add a ball bearing swivel between the hook and the plug.

If you really want to customize your kwikfish, IFish.net is running their annual kwikfish design contest.
http://www.ifish.net/board/showthread.php?t=172451

Basically, it's a coloring contest for fishermen and looks like a lot of fun.  Here's the official entry form.

I have a few ideas and if I can find the time I may submit one or two of them.

I've been using the Gamakatsu 510 hooks.

I know there's been posts on this subject on Piscatorial Pursuits.

thanks...

I've been running 4/O behind the k-14.......seemed to be a struggle to keep it tuned....but not all that familiar with this lure yet......maybe my sardine wrap was a bit off.

Thinking of heading over to the Hump for 3-4 days soon if anyone wants to meet up.

Nice to have a river with large feeding Kings and Coho.......seems like only snaggers doing anything around the Dungeness (my back yard).....

The kings were going nuts for eggs bounced along the bottom.

Are you running ball bearing swivels in front of your hooks?  In not, which way are you orienting your hooks.  The natural way a hook wants to point is up, so if you're not using ball bearings and you have them pointing down, it can mess up your action.

When are you going?

I think you might have nailed it Allen.

Hooks were down and the one I was fishing didn't have bearings......the dry one did....

Not sure on dates.....thinking of skipping the weekend, but could connect for the mid-day float on Sunday and a few days after.

This river is a bit strange with everyone getting there supper early (5:30) and sitting on "the spots" for about an hour before sunup......the crazy thing is that the bite doesn't seem any better earlier and most of the guys all start to float down the river within a few hours and all at the same time...leaving all the good holes open for the next crew.

The river level has continued to drop and I'm sure clear up a bit.....it may be a whole new game at this point....but only better from what we had...........better vis for sure.

The last float with Espiga was amazing..... a beautiful river with some fantastic scenes.....also a few branches and riffels to keep an eye on.    ;D   but not too bad.  The Trident held her own with at least a few spinouts in the riffels, but no worries about flipping....knock...knock....

We lauched at around 6:30....just daylight.....and pulled out around 4:30.  The float itself I'd say is around 2:00 hrs with many a bank to haul out on and stretch the legs....

Let me know what u're thinking and we can connect for the car "ferry"....

U have 4 wheel drive...?......
The lower access road is a bit rough.
