Lake Washington skunk 6/25/06

Well, I may as well post my not so good days too.

Lauched from the ramp at Mercer Island under the I-90 bridge.  Today I was taking Carolyn and Keith from Outdoors NW out.  I find June to be a tough mouth to fish around Seattle.  The spring bite is over, the trout planters have slowed down, and the salmon are not here yet.  Fishing was  ok today with the fine weather.  Catching sucked.  Pulled needlefish on leadcore line and plugs on weghted lines.  No love, although I had one  nice hit on a shad rap.  Had a bit of excitement when Keith rolled the drifter he was on.  He did manage to hold onto the rod ... thank goodness!  Note to self ... remind newbies not to turn around and look back wards in their seats.  Marked a lot of large suspended schools at 20-30 feet in 40-60 feet of water.  I'm thinking perch.  I didn't bring anything to target them with, although NEXT time I will as I need to get the local lake skunk off my back.
