New to kayak fishing

Hey everyone I'm new to kayak fishing ,but not new to fishing or kayaking. I've been searching all over for other kayak fishermen/women in the Seattle metro area. Is there any good places to take my new boat this time of the year?? I cant wait until spring for trout I need some action now!!! I live in Kent the green river is pretty much dead for salmon anyway you can't fish from any floating devices in that river. Any suggestions???!!!

Welcome to NWKA! The sound is still very doable as long as you've got a wetsuit or drysuit. there's plenty of lakes around that will produce as well and once again a wetsuit or drysuit is recommended since water temps are down pretty low already. So get a suit of somekind and get out there!

I'm sure there are some year round lakes not too far from you- American Lake , etc. Lake Washington has perch, bass and trout.

The S. Sound still has chum, blackmouth and crab.

What kinds of fishing do you prefer?

I prefer salmon fishing in fresh water but I am open to anything. I just want to get out and try out my new kayak. So probably something fairly easy would be good to start with. So I can get the feel of my yak.
