Spent 2 days in the Strait, mooching and trolling in and west of Freshwater Bay.  The weather was great----filtered sun, and glassy water in the AM.  I fished from 0700 to 4 PM Saturday, no love, lost my diver gear in the kelp.  The PBs were running about 3 miles out for silvers, they were getting limits of 8-10# fish in about 400 feet of depth, 40-60 feet down.  Sunday I got out at daybreak, nice and sunny, got an 8# blackmouth on a diver and "Kitchen Sink" Coho Killer.   There was one other kayak fisher, guy from Port Angeles named Jeff, he too got a nice blackmouth.  The inshore water was full of orange jellyfish, long red tentacles, from the surface to as deep as I could see-----water clarity was awesome.   The tides were favorable, a 2 foot exchange from the morning high, and any salmon was legal----no fin restrictions, only the 22" size limit to worry about.  That's the story for all of October in area 6, also Freshwater Bay is open to salmon until November.   I lost one big fish while mooching, took my last sinker so I went to the diver.  Lots of sealife, including 3 curious otters that checked out my Hobie while I was attending to  nature's call  in a little bay.  I was surprised at how big the damn things are!!  Someday I'll figure out a safe way to take a leak while afloat....
Sure wish Sequim Salty had been there, it was good fishing and very nice conditions.

Forgot to add-----caught my first halibut on a jig in only 80 feet of water, nice fight but had to release it.  Also caught a couple pretty greenling that went back to Davy Jones, am not into bottomfish (except buts in May!!)

I managed to take another blackmouth Sunday nearly 15 lbs jigging.  Got into the fish for a bit, had 4 on in about as many minutes.

In my Outback, I get on my knees and pee through the mirage drive well while wearing the dry suit.  In shorts, getting on the knees is not required.  :)  I never tried it on any other models.

Great report, now that the weather has started to improve I have to add another spot to try along with Hobuck and Chilliwack/Vedder for fishing.  I am starting to see a month plus road trip developing ;D  As for relieving yourself, a quart gatorade bottle works well; large mouth (back pressure issue) and the half liter bottles fill up rather quickly.
