Hi there,

I have been reading this forum for several months and have learned a ton. Thank you!

I bought a Perception Pescador 12 in September and have been having a blast. I live in a condo, so 13 feet was a hard length limit for the storage unit. I have been out 4 times or so and rigged my kayak with an Eagle 350/s and a Scotty rod holder which appears to be working well for me. Several things have been a bit of an odyssey, especially finding the right mount backing (Tap Plastics), the right foam to mount the puck (Friendly Foam), the right rod mount (John's Sporting Goods), the right rod & reel (Shimano TDR and Abu 6601C4 at Sportco), the right net (Walmart), the right PFD and paddle (REI), and even getting the kayak itself shipped to Seattle from South Carolina by West Marine (for free no less), but at the end of the day, I am finally good to go. I've caught my share of salmon from the shore on the Columbia River, but never one in the ocean... until a couple of Friday's ago.  ;D

Very nice!!!  Welcome to the addiction. What a great set up for limited space! It's only going to get better for fishing....much much worse for the addiction!

Welcome to the forum

Our kayaks look like they could be sister ships as my Pescador 12 has the same exact same extended rod holder and FF / GPS setup.  I could not find the yellow version though and had to settle with one in red which they had in stock locally at Sports Authority.   Though it was the fishing version "Scrotty already installed" they matched West Marines price for the standard.
I have had it on Lakes, Sound and Ocean with no complaints so far.     I recently picked up another SOT with a rudder which I am still waiting to hit the water with for the first time.   This will give me an idea if I want to add a rudder kit to the Pescador.   One of the things that sold me on the Pescador was that it looks to be rudder ready should I want to go that route.
I used to think that Bigfoot might exist. Then I saw the reality shows where they are looking for them.  Now I am certain they don't

Nice setup- very clean.  Let me know if you ever want a fishing buddy.  I'm new to the site, but excited to get out as much as possible.  Congrats on the fish.

Too clean if you ask me.....lol.

Sounds like something is being done about that though.  A little blood on the Yak is never a bad thing...unless it's yours....
