From Canby Ferry down stream to Peach Cove. Water temp 61 Deg and the river has gone up since my last trip there. It looks to be about 4' higher. The river being higher appears to be a good thing as the Bass have moved out of the stronger current and compressed into small schools  in the back eddies and by downed timber at the rivers edge. I started out with a white Strike king spinner bait with a red Gamakatsu trailer hook. I was throwing the spinner bait around all the structures in the river and and pulling a crawdad wiggle wart when trolling. I caught 3 nice bass with the spinner bait and 1 medium on the plug with many misses. I might have been trolling too fast not sure. I lost the white spinner bait and changed to chartruce only caught 1 on that color I also changed to a white wiggle wart with no luck and 2 hits.  It was going on 6:15 pm and the wife was waiting for me so i started to head in. If I could I would have stayed out because as it got darker the bass started going crazy jumping all around me. I am going to have to try night fishing once I get a pole with a flag and a light. Here is a shot of one of the nicer ones.

Would love to get in 1 more day of bass fishing this year.  I have not ventured else where besides Willamette Park.  I love that part of the water, nice and calm.

Curious where abouts is Canby Ferry, where are you launching from?  Hebb County Park? Memorial City Park?

Hopefully some day I get back into Kayak fishing, for now.  Gotta focus on Life.

Great report. I had tried the smallies before hitting the sturgeon at George Rogers with only 1 bite to show for it. I just could not find the fish. Did all your fish come off of wood?  I was concentrating on rocks near deep water. I only found out where they weren't :) How deep we're you fishing?

Thanks again for a great report!

Excellent report!  Looks like the bass are really putting on the feedbag.
Way to put the hurt on em.

Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.  --Mark Twain
