Hi,

I am new to Seattle and love this site.  I've fished in Elliott Bay a few times and it seems like the salmon have moved to the rivers.  The recent photo of the salmon caught on the Snohomish was pretty spectacular.  Anyway I've got some questions regarding the Snohomish.
1. Where is a good spot to put in with your Kayak?
2. Do you fiish from your Kayak or do you paddle to the bank and fish from the bank?
3. What do people use?  I have a bunch of lures and jigs.
4. Is it a fast moving river or slow enough to put in and take out at the same place?
5. What else do I need to be thinking about....?

I know this is a lot of questions so I appreciate any advice people have.  Also, if anyone wants a fishing partner for the Snohomish (or other river) I am available most Saturdays and Sundays.  (Oh, my Kayak is an older Hobie Revolution, but I don't use the mirage system.)

Thanks for any input!

Peter

I am by no means a tutor but will share what I have learned.

1.  I launch at Cady Park in Snohomish (40 Maple St.)
     http://www.ci.snohomish.wa.us/Parks/ParkCady.htm
The fish hold up near the Pilchuck river a shorrt distant up river past the 2nd train crossing.  Zee told me to fish any inside turn up strem for a mile or so.

2.  I fish from my PA and you should have no problem with your kayak.

3.  I was trolling a plug (Brads #26) others have had luck with (#74)

4. It is not fast moving and you should have no problem launching and returning to Cady.  Personally I head upstream when I start out and then head down stream to finish up.

5. Last Saturday was super busy but people launch throughout the day.

Have fun and let me know if I can answer any other questions.

D

Have fun.

Thanks Dwalk,

I appreciate your insight!  Hope to be in a position someday to be of help to others!

Best,
