Crabbing isn't open and Area 8 is not one of the areas opening early.  Most crabbing opens in July.

Good luck on the flounder.

Going to be up there the weekend of the 18th at Kayak Point.  Family gathering, not just fishing, but I am taking my flounder gear along.  Plus campout stuff.  Plus dive gear, since I have to do a quick (logged in the dive book) refresher scuba before a July cruise...  I'm taking boats along for some fun playtime with assorted siblings, cousins and their offspring, but I do plan to make some fishing time.  Look for a yellow truck hauling a yellow Elie and a blue Native.  :)

I'm going to be going out again this weekend. Where abouts did you fish last weekend? I caught flounder and a crab? How did you do?

Where abouts do you live? I know some spots that we can bottom fish there's a man made reef off the shore. I did catch a rock fish Friday afternoon.

Planning to be out on the water Saturday (maybe Fri evening too) at Kayak Point.  Look for a yellow Elie and a blue Native Propel.  My brother and I will be chasing flounder, doing some checkout refresher scuba, and lots of eating with cousins...

We're going to be around all day.  There will be a herd of us (cousins, kids, etc) at the first picnic shelter by the boat ramp.  Me and the two 'yaks will be the only boats, one for me and one for others to play around.  Competition might be fierce for it  ;)  I am taking along fishing gear but no firm plans on any particular time, or how far afield.   My brother and I will be doing a couple of shore dives at some point (probably later in the afternoon on incoming tide).  Those are just 'refresher' dives for me since I've not been underwater in a couple of years, but if all goes well we may be trying our hand at spearing some flatfish for dinner.
