Besides the fact the seller calls us "stupid" it sounds like he wants to get rid of it, and could probably be talked down in price.

Looks like a Hobie Mirage Oasis Tandem.  They recently changed the front hatch from a round hatch like this one to more like the Revo has for the newer models.

Still a sweet price for someone wanting to get into a tandem Hobie.

That is a fairly old model as it does not have the twist and stow rudder, but it is still a sweet price.  If it has the old V1 drives you could try to use that to talk him down a bit.

Not that I am at all interested in this kayak, I am curious if the twist and stow rudder can be easily upgraded to this older model.
Mostly I am asking this question for anyone here that may be interested in it, and may want the twist in stow rudder later.

Spoke with the kid, he claims it's only a year old. Offered him $1K just to see if he'd bite. Not clear if his dad is willing to actually sell.

Okay, so we're all stupid. My guess is he's another crackhead and has either stolen it for the purpose of selling it for more crack or meth, and is now nervous about people asking questions. Or, he's going to sell it out from under his dad, who never uses it, then probably deny it when it shows up gone and only to have it reported as stolen by Dad. Sounds like he may have some daddy issues  :binkybaby: since the girlfriend got to go out and he didn"t. What a frickin' tool.

When I read the ad it sounded like he was selling it without dad's permission. IHop confirmed that. I do not want to get in the middle of that situation!
