Ok. I'll admit it. Several years into the sport and I still don't have these in place. I have a yak
hand bilge pump and everything else safety wise. Where is the best place to stuff these on a Revo13 and what size works best? I think it would be prudent of me to have these in place especially when i'm 5 miles from shore fishing for Butts at Partridge Bank or in my wading pool.

My stern areas of my Pro Angler and my Trident 15 are stuffed with noodles, so I know if I swamp them, they won't float level, but I store a bunch of stuff under deck and need the storage area. An electric carving knife  helps to shape the pool noodles to fit better, I sliced the ones that contact the bottom so they lie flat against the hull, so I could wedge in an extra noodle. You need several sizes for fit, they are so cheap, I gave the leftovers to neighborhood kids for the pool. Another trick I did was to feed a fish wire thru the stern drains in the Pro Angler so I could pull the pool noodles thru rather than trying to push them.

So what's this noodling the yaks?  Additional flotation?  Emergency flotation to pull out?  Total n00b questions, but very curious.

Internal flotation, in the event that your kayak gets swamped, it won't sink completely.

Been using the pool noodles for functional floatation for a few years now.
I dont know anything about rigging the hobie boats but maybe some of my ideas can help.

My intent was to create bulkheads that take up dead space and to have floatation that keeps all of my stowed gear in place so it is right where I left it when needed.
Ive also been using the noodles to hide any loose wires and it has worked out well.
Hope this helps.

I really like what you did with it on the 4th pic from the bottom. Thats a great idea for keeping the rods in a rod pod from bouncing around when you're going through surf, it would help keep them in place for when you want to access them, and it adds a functional safety feature too.  Very nice!  :icon_salut:
