That's great, i've thought about getting a tandem just so I can take my pup out on the water. Keeping her in the boat will be another matter  ;D

Dude, you hate that dog!
You'd probably push him off the kayak and make him swim back to the launch.

I'm hoping that I can get my dog to stay still sitting behind me.  It's going to take some effort to train him but I'd like to be able to take him fishing every once in a while.

The dogs have done surprisingly well.  After yanking them against their will into the boat, the first time, they are now ready to hop in and get going before I'm even ready now.

The funny thing about the dog preservers is that they can't really lay down with that neck strap.  Every time they try, it pulls on the strap on their rear flank.  Funny thing to watch.  Haha

Pugs do swim well and they impart some good topwater action.  They're like a giant popper as their dog paddle puts a lot of air into the water.  I keep waiting for the landlord of Rufus Woods to jump out of the water and take one of them, but it never happens.  They do kind of look like baby seals, though.   ;D

The lab, on the other hand, is so calm swimming, it almost seems like it's less effort for her than walking.  Still contemplating getting her a lifejacket as I've had labs that could swim for miles without one.  I did have a near drowning experience with one of my labs when a rottweiler jumped on her while she was in the water.  She got pushed down so far into the water that she probably couldn't figure which way was up or down in the lake and swam towards the bottom.  I waited for what seemed like minutes before she popped back up to the surface.   :D
