It is a beautiful little area and all the points of interest are close in.  I investigated the area from the cliff shoreline north of NW Island south to the notch in Reservation Head, plus fishing all around NW Island and Rosario Head, and in 4 hours traveled only 5 nm.  Next year I'll hit the area earlier in the season.

How are the currents around Deception Island?  They spooked me so I didn't go out there.

Yeah, lot of little nooks to explore.

The currents around deception island are super hairy around peak current.  Both sides of it turn into whitewater.  It's accessible tho, you just have to choose your times. Interesting place.  I haven't caught any huge fish there, but I've gotten strange fish there.  Painted Greenling, lot of Red Irish Lords and recently, that tiny fish I thought was a juvenile greenling but was actually a longfin sculpin.  If I were into diving, I'd hit the west end of that island.
