Spent the day cleaning gear and throwing away too many new, unused, hooks that had gotten wet and not immediately rinsed and dried. Hate it when that happens.

Saw these on the Owner Hook site (bottom of the page) Sacrificial anodes for your hooks!

I'm sure it won't replace the need to wash and dry your hardware, but it looks like it could work. :dontknow: Or is it just something else to catch fishermen? Is that zinc foil?
So what do you guys do to get rid of and preve

Never tried anything besides washing them really good afterwards.

If you do try those zinc (or whatever they are) strips just make sure you remove them before using the hook for fishing.  If the fish breaks you off, or you have to cut the line rather than extract the hook at the boat you don't want to slow down the corrosion process so the hook falls out of the fish like it's supposed to within a few days.
