After reading Pelagic Paddlers response the other day about the Step Drill Bits that Harbor Freight sells, I decided to give them a shot. Ron is absolutely correct! They rule for making a quick, clean and easy job out of pretty much any install that requires a perfect sized hole.  ;D These drill bits have the perfect depth too for the our plastic hauls. Just count down from the base or up from the tip however many levels you need to pass to hit the target width on the bit and you're finished. These bits cover all sizes holes in the following sequence. For bit #1 here are the sizes; 3/16", 1/4", 5/16", 3/8", 7/16", 1/2", 9/16", 5/8", 11/16", 3/4", 13/16", 7/8". For bit #2 here are the sizes; 1/4", 25/64", 35/64", 11/16", 13/16", 7/8", 1", 1-1/8", 1-7/32", 1-1/4", 1-3/8". These are a great product to add to your list of tools  used for drilling and cutting on kayaks. Thanks again for the awesome recommendation Ron!
Cheers!

Perfect. My next project will be mounting my old Lowrance F Finder for my grandkids to use, on the family Sport.

That certainly makes it easier.

Very good advise in picking them up from Harbor Freight or any of the small tool stores that sell generic / Chinese tools.   I go through 15 to 20 of these a year in my work.   Home Depot and Lowes carries versions by Irwin and Greenlee which stay sharp 10 times longer if drilling metals but at 3 to 4 times the price.  No advantage if just drilling plastic.    Harbor Freight typically drop this 3 bit kit price down to under $10 during their big sales several times a year.  Perfect for drilling holes for rivets and electrical pass through holes on the kayaks.

I used to think that Bigfoot might exist. Then I saw the reality shows where they are looking for them.  Now I am certain they don't
