We are getting close to the traditional start of halibut and lingcod season in Puget Sound.  When is the 2012-2013 WDFW Fishing Pamphlet scheduled to be released?

From what I understand, there won't be one.  Didn't the governor put a rule in that regs would be done every two years to dave money?  There is a pamphlet of changes available.

Bummer, if that means I'm going to have to pay for my own paper and ink to print out all that garbage. Major and most Reg changes are made every two years. Emergency changes can be made at any time.
Seems like this year there are a lot of rule changes again.
The rule pamphlets usually aren't ready until just before the general lake opener, anyway, and now this!

The pamphlet of changes includes changing the Puget Sound sturgeon season from year-round to only 2-1/2 months, June, Sept, and 2 weeks of October.

"The proposal is designed to protect Columbia River sturgeon that venture into Puget Sound to feed."

??  If they are worried about Columbia River Sturgeon why not close the Columbia River Fishery?  Anyone know the scientific evidence that Columbia River Sturgeon are traveling more than 200 nm into Puget Sound?

Demonic. A tagged Columbia river fish was either caught or netted up here in the Sound but a Columbia tagged Dino was ditto for being up here. The Native Americans up here will get a larger take on those fishies and I agree that we are being penalized by a weak,
cowtowing WDFW who favor commercial fisheries over recreational ones. I agree especially from reports from our guys on the Willy that there are tons of fish down there.
We have to put in hours if not longer to get the chance of even a takedown, let alone a fish on.
