At least you had the brains to zip up your dry suit and skill to recover without assistance.

I, on the other hand, had the foresight to have D_Rock close at hand. ;-)

I miss Seinfeld..

Netarts Bay is probably one of the most dangerous bays on the coast if recent (last 10 years or so) is any measure. Shallow bar and bay couple with a big incoming or outgoing tide and it's hold your breath time. Glad it worked out and the sea wasn't that angry....

Yes. The current can really get moving in there.  I dont think  I was in the water for more than 20 seconds, if that.

You said your gaff hook wasn't leashed.
What did you plan to gaff in Netarts?  :icon_scratch:

Yup. Crab pot buoy loops.  The first time I ever went crabbing the current was strong and it pulled some of the buoys under.   Luckily, I had the gaff along inside a hatch because I had planned on fishing. I used the gaff to pull the buoy rope loop up so I could grab it.  Since then I have attached a smaller float a few feet above the main buoy.  I have not needed the gaff since that first time, but i carry it out of habit I guess.
